Unfolding
2021
paper, old sketches and drawings
about 50 square meters

Paper installation exhibited at A. Petersen, Bygning A as part of the group exhibition KORRIDOR, 2021.
The starting point for ‘Unfolding’ was the largest box. Its measures are equivalent to the base module of the installation architecture, imitating the grid structure of the exhibition room.

The large paper box unfolds and multiplies into smaller boxes – always in relation to the base module so that it either doubles in size or divides into halves. The further away the boxes are from the center of the installation, the more chaotic, organic, and out of grid is the structure.

Some of the boxes contain old sketches, drawings, and three-dimensional paper figures – things left behind and left over from my earlier works and processes through many years. Unfolding is in this matter related to a temporal perspective. It maybe puts one in mind of moving boxes, representing an archive of the forgotten and faded.
